Hey all,

I have been tempted to try one of these on a light gun that I am trying to add a bit more weight to. As far as the reticle options what seems to be the favourite for Alberta prairies/foothills deer/elk hunting. The firedot always looks good on the internet however I have had VXR scopes in the past and the firedot did not always work as planned and it is an extra cost. The B&C seems to be the least popular but again spendy. Thanks in advance.

My favourite is the HTMR. Have it on my VX5HD 3-15, and getting it put into my VX5HD 2-10. I like the fine reticle, and there's some limited use out of the Mil subtensions.

Another vote for HTMR if you’re ok with Mils. I’ve got that reticle on 3 different scopes now. It seems to be the hardest one to find in VX-5HD though.

I have the 2-10 with Firedot and a 3-15 with B&C.
The 2-10 is going on my LH Rem 700 in 358 Win next weekend once it comes home from the gunsmith...was getting NECG open sights installed on the barrel. It will get used mostly in the timber hunting bears, moose and elk, but may be pressed into service in some of the open cutblocks/meadows where shots can stretch out to 300 yards.

Dropped off my X Bolt today to get the 6.5 PRC barrel installed and will be mounting the 3-15 on it when it gets home. Have always been a fan of the B&C and am looking forward to using it on this rifle here in NE BC. I hunt mountains, thich bush and large open areas, so its versatility comes in handy when needed in more open areas for deer, elk and mountain game.

I did pick up a VX-6HD 2-12 with the illuminated B&C and am looking forward to mounting it and trying it on my 85 Finnlight II LH Sako 338 Federal this coming week.

I'll let you know...hope to get to the range tomorrow if I get the last of the hay stacked and tarped, and get those scopes mounted, so I can get some hunting in this week...elk season is open and the wife wants to hunt black bear.
