I would like to know if this telescope is still as good today even though it is discontinued?

Lots of things become discontinued. That does not change the quality. If it was excellent when it was made, it is still excellent unless it has been damaged.

Now if you are asking is it as good as what is being produced today, often the old product is preferred. There is no set rule on this.

I would agree with Guntech

The only difference being, IMO anyway, it may have been (let’s say) a $500 scope new.

Is it still worth that now? I would say no, that you could buy a better scope now for $500
