I'm looking to upgrade my scope from a 100 buck Bushnell to something better.

Thinking of the Leupold VX 2 3-9 x 40. I also have heard good thngs about Nikon but the warranty on the Leupold is hard to beat.

Anyone had experience with these, good and bad? I would appreciate any input.

We bought the Faja a 40mm VX. He fell with the rifle and busted the stock while draging a deer out of the woods. The scope got a good smack and a nice gouge in the objective bell. I restocked the rifle for him and re-zeroed the scope. All good, no damage it took it like a champ.

I've tried several....Leupold, Nikon, Bushnell, Weaver.

After years, I've kept my Leupolds.....mosty fond of the VX 2 1-4x20mm.

I have an older L (34 Years) that is on its 2nd .338 WM. The biggest reason for an adjustment is fooling with bullet weights from 185 gr Barnes to some old 300 gr Barnes Original. Using 210 NP it just doesn't move - Never had to test the Warranty ... There is a 3x9 Rifleman on an old Savage .06, I'm sure that's what makes that rifle look good ... I have an older M8, straight 6 that is looking for a home, on one of my rifles here at home ..

I don't have any Nikon scopes but have Nikon rangefinder and binos, top shelf quality items.

I still have a Leupy VX II 3-9 from 1980, good/clear as the day I bought it.
