Looks like Leupold is releasing a VX3HD, if you go to their ring finder on their website it lists it as one of the choices.

Can’t wait to see the options and the price tag of this scope. I will be picking by one up for my lightweight rig.
 
Interesting, they show a VX3HD 2.5-8x36 CDS-ZL that may be a good option on my lightweight rig and a 1.5-5x with a fire dot illuminated reticle that would probably work well on my .404
 
I've noticed Brownells showing all models of vx3i, discontinued, out of stock.

So maybe leupold is discontinuing that line?
 
Nice I didn’t think they had that size with cds, it’s only .7 ounce heavier to step up to the bigger one though I think the extra light gathering of the 40mm objective is worth the .7 ounce
