I'm thinking of getting a Leupold VXR Patrol in 3-9x40 for a coyote / deer scope to put on my T3 Tactical and possibly my AR from time to time. Has anyone run one of these? I like the illuminated reticle for dusk / dawn and cloudy days in the woods and I've never liked having caps over by windage and elevation turrets so I'm thinking this scope will fit the bill. Where I hunt is mostly woods and I can't imagine having to take a shot beyond 300m, let alone 200m.

Do any Canadian dealers carry this or would I have to go through Brownells?

I had a Leupold 3-9x40 VX-R Patrol with the TMR reticle and .1 MRAD turrets.

I sold it to buy a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 FFP. Clarity was similar but I got the Vortex because of the addition of a side focus and the FFP.

I have the Leupold AR mod 1 3x9 with the Firedot reticule on a Sako Black Bear. I really like the Firedot reticules since they are motion detector operated, the difference from the VX-R is a one inch tube, so it is lighter and also a green Firedot and they are optically equivalent to the VX2 scopes and sell for less. I also have the same scopes in the 1.5x4. I bought the Leupold's from SFRC and I believe you should also try P&D for both the Leupold AR and the Leupould VX-R.
