Lever 12 for waterfowl?

Lots of people here shoot waterfowl with shorter barreled guns. That's not a problem. What we don't have experience with is lever action shotguns for waterfowl. Time for you to step up and see how it works. Take along the 870 as a backup, but let us know what a lever action is like in a goose pit or a duck blind. You will be the resident expert on the subject.

Ditto what grouse man said. I have taken a replica 10 gauge flintlock brass blunderbuss rabbit hunting to a successful ending. It's quite handy having a decent birdshot pattern in the field.
Edit: I tend to believe it's the trigger activator that's truly tested here versus what style of scattergun.

Not when they drop their landing gear and cup their wings. They lose a ton of speed and can not quickly dart and recover like a teal can. They are big slow animals and easy to hit if you set up your spread correctly.
