lever .22

Browning bl-22 is possibly my favorite out of my multiple firearms. Its the envy of my friends with plinkers. Dead accurate. Never fired a Henry though..

X2

I've had a Browning since about 1980. I use cases of ammo every year since, its fired hundreds of thousands of rounds and never has a jam, regardless of ammunition. I replaced a firing pin 2 years ago for 30 bucks. Its worth every penny you spend.

I have the base model Henry. I've been perfectly pleased with it, but it is certainly not built to the standard of the BL-22 or the Marlin Cowboy or older Winchester 9422. I like the Henry for the fact that I can use it without fear of nicks and scratches - it just won't ever be a museum piece! If you want a really nice, high quality lever 22, go with the Browning or watch for a used Marlin or Winchester (those 9422s are hard to snag - they go fast). For the money though, my Henry cycles super smooth and shoots just fine. I do like it. Maybe somebody can speak to the higher end Henry Frontier or Golden Boy versions. . .

i have a henry ocotogon barrel. i put 5000+ rounds threw it. slick action right out the box. cycle with one finger. ate shorts and long rifles. accuracy was good about 1" at 50 with a scope and a rest. its a lever so i quickley lost the scope.

I have or have had,
A base model henry
2 henry mares legs
A browning BL22
A browning BL22 micro
A win 9422 cheyenne
A 9422 XTR
A marlin 39 made in 1978.
All that remain now is one mares leg(kinda handy and I bought a holster)the BL22 micro for my daughter and the 39 for me. It feels better, shoots great, is a takedown, and has a long barrel so the peep sights work well on it, I have no regrets selling the others.

I bought a Henry for the GF and she loves it, great rifle and super smooth action. I have a Winchester 9422M, great rifle , hard to find these days.

I bought a golden boy for my son, own both the Winchester lever and the BL22, the Browning is the best shooter and my fave hands down!

Holy crap! 9 posts and no mention of the finest lever .22 out there...the Marlin 39!

I've had a Browning and Winchester, and spent a fair bit of time behind a Henry at one time. My Marlin 39 is the only one I never sold, and never will. I still own an older Ithaca 72, which I keep for sentimental reasons, but the Marlin is the cream of the crop as a shooter.

I have BL-22's and Henry's (a couple Winny's too)... if I had to make a recommendation, it would be for the Henry Frontier octagon barrel model. I like my Browning's alot... I LOVE my Henry's! I have the Frontier's and Golden Boy's in LR and WMR.

Excellent! I just picked up an octagon barrel henry off of EE...I'm so excited to get it. Its in transit now. Thanks to the best transaction I ever had on EE (thanks to Scott!) I'm planning on keeping it for the rest of my life. It has tremendous sentimental value already and I haven't even shot it.

I will be sure to tell you all when it arrives.

Dan
