Lever 30-30

Do not buy a new Marlin. Their quality control is a joke. I had to send my 336Y back and they refunded my money instead of giving me another POS.

If you can get an older one then you will be much happier. I have an older 336A and it is a beauty. Accurate and nice to carry.

Look for a Savage 340. They are a bolt gun so you can use pointy bullets. Mine loves the Leverevolution rounds.

Dumb question, what is so wrong with post '64 win 94 rifles. The only difference I notice is the parts are manufactured quicker. I haven't noticed any difference in shooting them?

My mistake. The parent Winchester .30 cartridge
was a necked down .38-50 Ballard cartridge case, prior to the first head stamped .30 WCF also known as Smokeless. Here are some cool vintage pics of a couple of boxes of them and a .30 cartridge marked W.R.A.CO... S C or Smokeless Centerfire The S was dropped and then later stamped WCF I wonder if you could still bag a deer with them or if they would
just go Pfffft
