Lever Action 22 information

my grandfather had a marlin model 1891 that i thought was very unique. it had a side loading gate like the centerfire rounds. i have never seen this side loading port on a 22lr ever since. so im curious if anyone knows if there are other companies with the same side loading port. it is my understanding that models with a side loading gate were only produced for a very short period of time. could anyone lend some knowledge to how rare these are and what someone would expect to pay for one these days if even able to find one. thanks for your time
