Lever Action deer rifles

Marlin 1895 GS in 45-70. It's not a long distance machine. But I rarely hunt fields. It'll put that warm fuzzy feeling in you, like you won't be undergunned for anything.

I bought a beater of a Savage 99 in 308 last year for $100. Put another $100 into fixing it up.

I've killed quite a few deer and bear with my old 1954 Marlin 336 30-30. They're a nice gun. I find them generally better than a Winchester 94.

The classy and slick BLR in .358 is my go to favourite. Light, handy, plenty o' power.

Winchester Model 71.

Took my buck this year with my Savage 99 in 375 Win, it's dropped alot of bucks for me.

Tripped over the hound after deer season was done coming down the stairs to put it away so now I've gotta take it to the range and see if I knocked the scope off.

The old "Hound Dog tripped me" excuse eh?

Laugh2
Maybe you're just old eh?

Thank that hound for the excuse to go to the range! but only if there's no damage!

Marlin 444 with 18.5” bbl is a very nice timber rig for ungulates and bear. Fast shooting and very effective from 0-200yds scoped with a VX3i 2.5x8

Winchester 94 in 30-30 circa 1973 I only pack it when I'm pushing bush for the boy's it's light, handy and fast handling in the bush.

It's funny I never asked the 80 deer I've shot if they knew what rifle hit them.
I should next time...
Bottom line any levergun is a great levergun

Under 250m or so I'm good to go with this incredibly light and powerful piece. .454 Casull R92. In the thicker bush it sure beats my usual 10lb .308W semi. I have even taken a lot of small game using .45 Colt shot shells I made.
