lever action rifle

John, thats way too much gun for us yung 'uns. I think I would hurt my pretty cheek, with my thumb!:D

My favorite lever gun/calibre combo:). I foolishly got rid of my first, a standard grade and I let the present on by me on the first gun show I saw it at. On the next show;), I had to have it.

I haven't used it in the field on game, yet but I have done some paper punching with it. In addition to the 230gr GC and 262gr GC cast bullets, I have a decent selection of jacketed to 'play' with in it. 200gr Hornady FP's are fairly readily available but I've also picked up a couple of old boxes of 200gr Winchester Silver Tips. Oh, also some 220gr and 250gr Barnes originals.

I've kinda' neglected the model 71 for the last little while as I've picked up a few other 'items' that, have kept me 'busy':p. Just about time to start putting it through its paces though. And actually, it doesn't really pound us yung 'uns all that bad. Kinda' enjoy shooting it:D. Elmer Keith and Francis E. Sell were quite fond of it.

Fits in well as a timber rifle with the Trapper Nelson back pack rig and caulk boots:D.
