All,

I'm looking for a sling for a Winchester carbine lever. I searched the forum and the internet but it doesn't look like there are a lot of options available. Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Uncle Mike's markets a package with quick release attachments and swivels, as well as a "barrel" band, which in the case of the 94 attaches to the mag tube.

I use my 94 for a close cover gun, and as such never use a sling, as they hang up on brush.

However, over the years, I've encountered a few.

There are the Uncle Mikes type, that attach to the mag tube fairly solidly, and use a regular quick release stud in the butt. The problem with this type, is that it can loosen the dovetail mounts for your tube mag. I've only seen one example of that though, and it was on a heavy 1886 Win, not a '94.

There used to be a barrel band type, it was a replacement barrel band that had a swivel installed in it. Every one of those I have seen has pulled through the band.

There is, and I think they are still available, a sling where the but rests in a leather sock, and the other end loops over the barrel. I've no experience with these, and have only seen pictures.

Here is a pic of my 20" barreled LSI Puma M92 454 Casull + I have the Uncle Mikes sling attachment that John Y C mentioned.

Just put the two halves in place on either side of the mag tube and screw them together.

I also put a piece of electricians tape onto the mag tube to help the attachment stay locked in place.

The lightest, narrowest Levys sling you can get. If its starting to look like a dog leash your getting close to what you need. Mines fairly old so I dont know if they still make it. There is no need to carry half a saddle around with you when you go hunting.

Kind of like this ?

That's a nice rifle you got camp cook. I think i'd go with a narrow sling as hickstick mentionned and the same type (leather butt sock & barrel loop) like freddyfour's picture... Thanks again for the info!

Freddyfour: Where did you get that sling / leather sock (assuming it's yours)?
