Lever Action small game gun

Lots of choices out there. Although I've never hunted anything with it, I have a Rossi 92 in .38/357 that Deaner slicked up with a Steve's package. Very nice, so slick to use. I also have a Chiappa 92 .44 mag. I also like shooting 30-30 and 32WS 94's with light loads of Unique or 700X and a lighter bullet. You can still buy a decent pre-64 94 for $500-600 and use for either plinking with lighter loads or hotter loads for bigger game.

Although I certainly am not an expert on firearms, nor am I what I call a "good shot", if I could only have one lever, it would most definitely be a 94 carbine. No pot metal, no plastic.

Had an Ithaca 72 saddlegun which is what Henry bought/copied I believe.I use my 1892 Win original in 44-40 de-capped a grouse a couple days ago. Just head choot e'm.

I picked up an Ithica 72 earlier this year at a gun show. Fun little gun. I did a little bit of searching on the net and the story I got, was that the founder of Henry arms designed the model 72 for Ithica, which they then farmed out to Erma of West Germany. After Ithica stopped ordering them and therefore Erma stopped producing them, Henry Arms bought back the rights to the design. I am not sure of the accuracy of this ( I read it on the internet, so it must be true), but I thought it might be of interest to you.

Oh dear.... I just - with absolutely no justtification whatsoever - bought a Chiappa 12" .357 Alaskan Takedown from Wanstals. (But then, "What has need got to do with it"?) I'll be selling a few things in the New Year to recoup losses, though. One small challenge is how to put a sling on it. Can't use a clamp-style swivel on the mag tube as the takedown lever gets in the way.

And as to the Ithaca 72 saddlegun, I still have the one I bought c.1974 in Williams Lake when working at a summer job at Gibraltar Mines up at McLeese Lake. :)

I have a Winchester/Miroku 92 in 44-40 that's been designated the new bunny gun since SK banned the cartridge for deer.

Should be fun.
Just poke e'm in the head.I de-capped a grouse with my 1892/44.40 original Winchester earlier this fall.

For small game, I'd love to get may hands on a Winchester 9410.

410 gauge lever action, with a full choke.

They're difficult to find in good unaltered condition, and if you do, the price will likely convince you the 22 is the way to go.

2520 would be great cartridge however i dont have one. I use a 9mm luger in a just right carbine. Results are stellar. It would lead me to believe a 38 or 357 would be a handy lil rifle in a lever gun

357/38spc all the way!
I've had the 1894CBSL (top one) since last Thursday and have already put about 300 rds through it. It is well balanced, very accurate and hasn't missed a beat. The XS sights are phenomenal even for over 40 eyes! It's my new fave and that's quite a feat considering how much I love My JM 1894C and the Chiappa .357 in the picture.
With the 2x Leupold on top I was bursting soda cans everytime @ 100yds with my 125gr hardcast handloads.

+1 for Henry Frontier as well. I got mine new in 2009 and have enjoyed it very much, put down lots of squirrels grouse and coons. Holds 21 shorts which truly means load on Sunday and shoot all week long for breakfast lunch and dinner. That and my Stoeger 410 sxs are my go to’s in the bush for small game. You can get skinner peep sights for them now which I’m considering doing, and they are even a factory option now. Henry has really stepped their game up with the current line up and they have excellent customer service.
