Lots of choices out there. Although I've never hunted anything with it, I have a Rossi 92 in .38/357 that Deaner slicked up with a Steve's package. Very nice, so slick to use. I also have a Chiappa 92 .44 mag. I also like shooting 30-30 and 32WS 94's with light loads of Unique or 700X and a lighter bullet. You can still buy a decent pre-64 94 for $500-600 and use for either plinking with lighter loads or hotter loads for bigger game.
Although I certainly am not an expert on firearms, nor am I what I call a "good shot", if I could only have one lever, it would most definitely be a 94 carbine. No pot metal, no plastic.
