Lever Arms sale on SKS and SVT40

Anyway to tell whether or not the ammo is really corrosive or not by shooting it? I just bought some "non-corrosive" 7.62x39 from Lever for my CZ 527.... Expensive rifle to wreck with false advertising.

Just scored x2 1944 Ishvek SKS from Canadian Tyre in Ormocto N.B. [ $199.00 ] and they just looked at my PAL and wrapped them in a garbage bag and escorted me to the cash and I was out the door. No info taken down plus a great conversation with the owner who is as gun nut too.

I called them once to ask what kinds of gun cases they had.
The guy who answered said,"just what's on the website".
I said thanks.
Went elsewhere.

I will stop in at lever the odd time when I am on the mainland, but in my opnion, they have taken a nose dive in attitude and customer service over the years. Used to be my fav place 13 years ago or so, now they make me feel like an idiot for asking to see something.

I drop by when I'm in the neighborhood.... there aren't enough shops around to black list some just because of a grumpy clerk...... in a way all these local people that avoid lever are a bonus as far as the used rack goes. Picked up a nice 70's Marlin 39 in the used rack for $300 a couple years ago.

I've found the service to be getting better in the last year or so for some reason so maybe they "got the memo"
Itallian was the same when I first dealt with them.......grumpy with attitude but they also have improved.

It seems like grumpy with attitude (think John from Marstar) is pretty typical in many gun stores and a nut needs a hard shell to survive in this world!

I don't mind shopping there, except when I have to deal with "Junior G.I. Joe". He is short with answers and will not let you peruse the rifles in the glass cases. I guess you are to use ESP to sort through the years and other such things before having him pull one out for you. Too much work for him I guess. All the other guys in the shop have been great to deal with, it's just this one guy....

Pardon me, but rifles are ruined from Non-Cleaning, not from the ammunition, whether corrosive or not. Rifles can rust away without ever shooting a single round with corrosive primers. I was shooting and cleaning my rifles for 30 years before I started reading about this Corrosive ammo boogy-man. Not one of my rifles is rusting.

Ive been shooting surplus ammo out of my cz527 since day one. It has no rust because I clean it.

Proper and timely cleaning is paramount. My svt40 has had about 900 rounds through it by me alone and is still mirror bore, but I clean it meticulously.

I picked up a svt40 225 out the door it had a great original 1940 svt stock matched to the receiver and great bluing and the bore was very good with only slight frosting I'm really with it you just have to take your time to look at a few they let you

Just got home with 2 1940 SVT-40's. 12 port muzzle breaks, notched for scope mounts, some nice X X X X X X 's carved into both stocks that I will presume are kill counts.

The bolts on both the rifles are a really nice bronze/copper tone. Stocks # matches receiver numbers, mags are totally random as expected.

$445 and some change , compared to $680 area I am VERY HAPPY!! :D :D

Time to rip the guns apart and get the cosmo out of them so I can shoot these next weekend. :)

Have people petitioned their CT's to stock firearms or something, or do they only offer them in red/rural areas? I'm getting a little jealous and mad seeing all these deals about people hand picking cheap SVT's at CT when the ones we have in K-W don't even stock ammo.

The store in Hanover doesn't stock firearms and when I asked an employee about it he said that he didn't think it was gonna happen. I will talk to the manager about it and see what his views are.

you got some with sniper notches?? wow jelly

Get thee behind me Satan.
Geeze! That's all I need. More temptations.
I have to get rid a some of my surplus supply of Enfields to get a surplus supply of SVT40s.

Mosin Nagant M38's for $625 at westrifle + t/s = approximately $725. The full sniper versions go for less than that. Don't get me wrong, I have purchased firearms and ammo from westrifle, put I think they have gone overboard on this one.
