Bought a spare trigger group for my Russian 54 SKS, tried to flip the safety down and it won't?

Called Lever Arms, they say Google it??

Anyone have any Youtube links or web pages to accomplish this fitting step?

Thanks

Did you try to install the trigger group with the safety off. The safety is supposed to be in the on position when installing the trigger group. You can damage it by forcing it into place with the safety off. Not sure if it makes a difference but the ones pictured on Levers site look to be Chinese trigger groups. Or at least the one pictured is.

Probably chinese yes, I ordered 3 spare firing pins from them and they are Chinese, 1 out of the 3 is useable,,, maybe, very soft and mushroomed from use!

Lever has never backed what they sell.IME

Not exactly true. When Allan Lever was alive and owned the place, his dealings with customers on any issue was amazing, after his death, the new owners have ridden on his name and apparently soiled it somewhat.

Your mileage may vary Allan was alive in the early 80's

Oh I'd say they've done more than "soil it somewhat"... They have the worst reputation for customer service among gun stores in greater Vancouver, which is too bad because from what I hear it was a great place back in the day.

Sent a couple of emails to Lever Arms, still no response?? If they don't respond I will send back the trigger group and call Visa as no where did say these were Chinese. :(

Funny how that goes eh.
Allan's obit was long and informative.
Mr. Lever was involved with the firearms legislation and outspoken about the error of the ways of the Governments handling of it back then.
I do not have a solution other than suffice to say call your CC company and inform them of what you are doing and then go with it.
Hi Caliber offered up , so that should be your next move.

Mr. Lever had a unique style of customer service but was always good to deal with if you knew what you were talking about and not wasting his time. Haven't been back since he sold the place.

SKS use a couple of different trigger groups, not all fit all rifles.

I found this out when I bought a replacement trigger group and like yours, it didn't fit, had to do some mix and match with my other SKS to make them fit.

What is your safety lever catching on?

most if not all the spare parts for sks at levers are Chinese. Allen bought a lot of Chinese guns and parts. he even had his own serial number block put on new manufactured guns

Does anyone know where the minor fitting info exists? Their link goes to the orering page not fitting as they state??????
