Lever Arms SVT 40s

I bought my SKS there last year and found them to be good. They helped me chose a nice 1951 laminate for $199. It had very little cosmoline on it and works perfect. They gave me tips on cleaning and maintenance.......I don't know what else you can ask for. I have no problem going back today to look at these SVT-40s.

Wow they must have been high on pot for them to be so nice, maybe they had some magic brownies for lunch. I've been in there 5 frigging times, always bought something, and I've been treated like a low life bum who smells like pigeon excrement every single time, driving all the way there is a biatch too. Facking tired of them, not going back unless they have something that I absolutely need and no one else has.

But Mike, we don't know you that well. Do you keep pigeons? Perhaps everyone else is too polite to mention the smell. I don't keep pigeons, but I have a natural ability to annoy people, that I have fine tuned over several decades, that I assume gets me treated in a similar manner. Strangely, the one fellow that was nice, annoyed me... Perhaps, next time, I will try the brownies you reccomend, and see if the experience improves.

Thanks for the tip... I went there and bought an SVT 40 today. I've already got it fully decosmolined and re-oiled.

The stock is pretty good, but after cleaning off the Cosmoline there are a few areas where the shellac is damaged. I may refinish it. The upper hand guard wood is perfect.

What a great rifle. They're a little more difficult to take apart than an SKS, but not too bad.

Went today thanks to Mike got realy nice one with scope grooves, Now my 6x VOMZ german post scope from corwin-arms will compleat the package

SVT-40 from Lever Arms

I ordered an SVT-40 from Lever Arms for $250 this past Tuesday. The rifle arrived via Canpar this Wed. Good work Lever Arms. Cleaned the rifle. Not too much cosmoline on it. Thanks to Youtube vids on how to dissassemble the rifle. The buttstock is not long on my rifle, I would say small or medium size stock for a WW2 enfield. Rifle was in good shape. The stock was not beat all to heck and after pushing Accelerator and Patch Out through the bore, (after cleaning the cosmoline out of the barrel) there was no sign of copper or rust.... a small amount of powder residue was evident. All other parts were in excellent shape with no huge signs of wear or rust etc. I have a 36in Clean-Bore coated rod which was JUST long enough to clean the barrel through the breech end. Even then, I had to use pliers to pull the patches out of the muzzle end.(the compensator) The metal parts were blued with some sort of black colour. All in all, a very nice rifle for the price. I was beyond impressed when I took it to the local range and shot it at 100 metres. After a bit of playing around with the military blade sight at the rear, I set the blade at 2 (assuming 200 metres ) which I found to give me a group which averaged 3 inches above my POA at 100 metres. My best group of 5 shots using PPU FMJ 182 gn Boat tail 7.62 by 54R (Serbian manufactured) was .98 inch (center to center) wide by 6.5 cm high group. Gas setting was 1.3. No problems ejecting or feeding. The recoil was light in the shoulder. This rifle is easy to aim and is well balanced. The 7.62 by 54R is very close to the .308 and 30-06 as far as ballistics go. One hell of a good deal and great service from Lever Arms.

If you don't want to deal with Lever Arms, or just not drive all the way into Vancouver, Nosalesports in Langley has the SVT's for $250 as well.
