Thank you. I thought that my google-fu fails me, but apparently the only SBR in Canada is Chiappa. That's too bad.
Henry H006ML Mare's Leg Pistol Lever 44 Rem Mag 12.90 - this one could have been converted to rifle by adding a stock but it has stupid tube loading as opposed to side-gate loading.
Rossi Ranch hand probably is the closest I can find - 12", just need to put a fullsize stock and make peace with stupid manual safety that was added for US market. And no TD.
I think if Henry or Winchester created own version of Chiappa Alaskan TD - it would be immediate hit.
 
Yup if you want the short barrel you have to go with the mares leg
It’s not easy to find the full size butt stock for them though
 
Glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with the inflated lever prices.
I'm looking for an 1892 in .38/.357 but just can't bring myself to pay more than $1400.
Gunflation is real!
 
A henry 22 lever was my first gun, i think i bought it 3 years ago.

I hadn't seen yellowstone at the time. I am just a real fudd, and so when i was researching it before buying and read about the history of the henry 22 and how classic it was, i knew it fit right into my mindset.

I paid $325 for it at elwood epps. I just checked now, and the same gun is now $600! That's quite the price increase in just 3 years.

My second lever gun is a marlin 1895sbl which i got last spring. I first encountered that gun in a random northern gun store, not realising how rare it was. I looked at it, listened to the saleman's spiel about it, but didn't really seriously consider it. That night my brother and i watched WindRiver, and my brother thought it was hilarious that they featured the same gun i had just been looking at that afternoon! I have no shame admitting that it was that movie that planted the idea in my head though, and a year later i finally had my own, and so far it's my favourite gun.

Now, if only i could afford to fire it some more!
 
If no one has mentioned it yet, the chiappa 44 mag short mares leg is an amazing gun and holds up after few hundred rounds. Plus it’s not very heavy and can also have a hip holster. Had mine for about 4 years now and its main use is for bear protection in the back woods, so it’s perfect for a hiker or outdoorsman.

Miroku by far #1 - I have 2. 30-30 and 25-35.
My son has hte new Rossi r95 -30-30 trapper it's slick as hell and shoots lights out.
Smith and Wesson is coming out with a 44 mag that looks very nice.
Marlin always but Ruger has priced them into the heavens.
If I was buying a new lever i'd buy a R95.
They beat my older marlins for quality and accuracy by a country mile.
His shoots cloverleaf groups of 5 at a legit 100yds
He is scoped of course.

Can't argue on the build quality & accuracy of the R95. I bought a trapper awhile back and she be a nice handling, smooth runner fer sure. :)
I sure hope Rossi comes out with the R95 chambered in 360 Buckhammer. I'll be quick to grab one if they do!

Rrrright. Some people are beginning to see what will happen - that all semi-auto rifles WILL eventually become restricted/prohibited/banned, sooner or later. In all of Kanuckistan.

That happy turn of events had been foreseen some time ago by a man named Jeff Cooper, of Gunsite fame. Yes, some time ago. Ref/article: Practical Defensive Carbines, Guns & Ammo Annual 1993, page 88-91.

Kanuckistani FUDDS don't know about that dirty little secret regarding lever action rifles becoming the new semi-auto rifles. So, don't you ever tell them ! Don't you !
 
I wouldn't trade this old 92 for the newer stuff handed out.
Just way to much sentiments to do so.

I have owned 44s, 45 70s, and 3030s in Browning, Marlin, Henry, Winchester [older not Miroku] and Rossi, I doubt if I would buy a Rossi or an older Winchester again, at the moment the only lever I own is a Marlin 1895ABL.
 
I have been watching the level gun prices climb for the last 4 to 6 years when I got interested in them again and I agree the price is shocking.
I see a few thing driving the price. Some mfg lower production output in early 2000s, marlin getting sold to Roger and then covid completed everything. At the same time people had time on hands and got interested in leavers.
So high demand now and a decreased new supply over the about the last 20 years, not to mention inflation.
That's my thoughts on how we ended up at these crazy prices.

You can also blame Jurassic World, Yellowstone and Chris Costa.
