Lever or pump

We owned a rem 760 in 'aught 6' back in pa because semis are not legal for hunting there.
We both agreed that it was as fast as a semi and a lot less finicky about the ammo we fed it.
It was very accurate delivering 2"ish 3 shot groups @ 100 yards with most factory ammo.
We both own win and marlin levers and we have to say the 760 is faster cycling.

I had a 7600 as well in 6 mm as well and really liked it. It was decently accurate and I agree it was a fast cycling gun. Lever wise the only one I've ever had is my Browning bl22. It's a beautiful little gun and alot of fun to shoot. It took me a little while to get used to the short cycle throw of the lever, and with mine I find you have to be aggressive when running the lever. If I baby it it sometimes fails to chamber a round. A buddy of mine has a Henry golden boy 22 and it's a really nice rifle as well. Accuracy wise between the Henry or Browning his Henry is definitely more accurate than my bl22, but the Browning is a faster cycling due to short lever cycle.
I'm assuming your looking for a rimfire? Go and handle some of each and see which fits you better and which action feels better to you.

Get the Henry Lever. Browning is nicer but is not as smooth action and is HEAVY. And sometimes mounting a small scope fits better on the Henry. Both accurate. I have a Henry and was gung ho to get the Browning but after comparing the 2 and shooting both SxS. I decided to stick with the Henry. Pumps are ok but Levers are cool.

I was leaning towards a lever, it would take me back to being a kid wanting to be a cowboy and yes in rimfire hence posting in the rimfire section lol. Looking around i was thinking maybe a winchester or marlin but I'm guessing they wouldn't be the easiest to find.

I should stay out of this one as I recently came to terms with the fact that I HATE tube magazines. lol I mean, I never liked them...but with time, I just can't tolerate them anymore. Grand total so far=4, and I'm down to 1. A Cooey 600 bolt action. Light, balances well, I bought it from a friend (original owner) and it's very lightly used...so..she stays for a while.

I've owned a Winchester 9422, a Henry pump, and a Taurus (Rossi) pump and maybe if I got these rifles before my eyes were almost 50 years old...maybe I'd have stuck with them. However, tube-mag-personal-issue aside, the Henry took way too much effort to pump...the pump handle itself would work loose. The Taurus was pretty good, tube mag the only issue there. Winchester was the nicest of the 3 guns and there are times I wish I'd have held onto it. If only for the appreciation-factor. All 3 were no fun to clean thoroughly, but if I could call one back..it would be the 9422.

I have a Browning pump-22 and a Marlin 39A lever 22. Pump is faster cycling than the lever, both are fun, get one of each.

If you send me a couple of seeds from that money tree of yours so I can plant one in my back yard.
We usually have to pick the most practical & useful of several options and buy ONE of them.

Henry has great customer service.
And if bought well and maintained should hold their value.
Marlin 39 are harder to find so they have a premium price.
The Rossi's are nice and light weight.
The winchester levers are same as marlin - good products put of production and hard to find.
Get the henry

The 9422 is a smooth and classic looking lever action .22lr, The Marlin is nice as well but not as smooth. The Browning is a bit different with it's trigger attached to the lever and short throw..... probably the hardest to work on and usually has a heavier trigger.

The Henry's are good value and perform well. I have one of their little mare's leg models and it's a fun gun......I'd opt for the Frontier model if I was getting a bigger Henry. The Henry pump is a modified version of their lever action so perhaps that's why they don't pump so easily or fast?
I haven't tired the Henry Pump but I know the Rossi Pump Action Winchester clone and Remington pump's are just as fast or faster then a lever action.

I have to many Henrys lol. They are all worth more than you pay. I love my .22 pump and the three levers I'm keeping... One is for sale. Either one will make you smile and giggle.

Just looked at a Browning lever on the weekend for my wife to use. I loved the throw of the lever

I do too after I got used to it. Just seemed weird at first not having to let go of the stock to cycle the lever. It makes for really fast shooting with the short throw. I put a Williams rear peep and Lyman front globe sight on it and it's a really fun little rifle to shoot.
