Lever Revolution!

444 marlin

I have owned many guns from bolt actions to semi's and everything in between, up until 2 years ago I have never owned a lever action, my opinion has changed alot, the standard 444 from rem. are great up to about 125-140 yard range with a 3-9 scope, the 444 light magnums are great for up to 2oo yrds .I haven't had a deer wonder too far yet.Swilly

I play a lot of guitar and much like the firearms market, there are incredible things available and they either cost an arm and a leg to import or never make it outside America.

Well we can't have that guitar stuff falling into the wrong hands, can we? Better to let the American economy continue it's plummet, than try and bring some revenue in.....

I wonder if the soft tip will show up on all ammo?

Hmmmm.... a .30.30WSM

I like the sound of that.

Any idea on the ballistics?

Any faster than 1900 at the muzzle?
Ummm, can someone describe what a 30-30WSM is?
Is it rimmed?
Is it blown out kinda like 30-30AI?

Wow. -2.2 for the 450 at 200 yards for the 450. With moose flattening horsepower no less.

Frankly - i'm excited. I always wanted to pick up a 30-30 but hadn't because it's range made it very limited - this would help a lot.

30-30 AI's would be pretty cool with this ammo too :)

An email I sent to Hornady asking when components were available said "not likely", then "maybe" then ", ..... 2007?"
There is hope!
Next question of course is how will they perform on game? Hornady usually does their homework, so I'm not expecting troubles, but ya' never know.

Hey Biggred seen any of them in Canada yet?

It should not be too long before the other bullet makers see the potential market for the soft tipped spitzer type bullets. How many tube fed lever action rifles are out there anyway... I predict many new component bullets coming our way soon.

I used the 444 lgt mag this year for deer , did not kill a deer with them but was impressed with the grouping. With these new loads my 444 will be a true 200 gun. I think it will come to Quebec for moose this year with me as a back up and might even see a day of hunting.
