Lever shotgun which of the makes is best

I have a 410 Marlin lever and love it for skeet. points and shoulders exactly like the marlin rifles. 20ga lever would be a good seller if one of the manufacturers would produce it

Check out the Charles Daly site, last time i looked they were showing them there. A little pricier than I'm into ($1200ish) but really nice looking guns.

How in hell did you manage to get one of those in Canada? I don't think I've ever heard of any making it out of the US!

I have one of the Winchester 9410s with 24inch barrel, tang safety and invector chokes ,it is a sweet little bunny buster. The 2 1/2 shell actualy patterns better than the 3inch shell anyway and has more than enough power for bunnies so the win 9410 only being chambered for the 2 1/2 is no handicap. And they were only discontinued as Winchester stopped making lever guns,As for popularity just try finding one for sale.

I too have a Marlin model .410 (repro.)! As for TGC's original post, Doc Rowland (oldwestguns.ca) Carried Win. 1887 repo's made by an Italian company named Armi Chiappa (http://www.armisport.com/eng/armiAS.asp?idFamiglia=7). The price tag is steep on them, but a very nice looking gun. He doesn't list them on his website anymore but I contacted him a couple months ago and he can still order them in. Some come with a "fast load" option where 2 shells can be loaded at once

From Armi Chiappa website:
Designed by John Browning for the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, the model 1887 lever action shotgun was considered to be the first successful repeating shotgun. Patterned after their highly acclaimed lever action rifle, the 1887 Winchester Shotgun was Winchester’s first entry into a tremendous lineup of shotgun models. The Model 1887 is a must for the discerning collector and Cowboy Action Shooter! The Chiappa Firearms, Ltd. Model 1887 Shotgun features a 22” barrel, case colored receiver*, and American walnut stock and forearm. Available in 12 ga. Only. A 28" barrel version available with item ref. 930.001 * Blued receivers and “In the White” available by special order.
