K i have absolutely no idea if I'm posting this in the right section but I'm looking for some plans for a lever wrap, or lever lace cause after shooting a few boxes my knuckles get bored, but not my trigger finger.

I don't want to spend too much (read 0$) and if i can recycle material from shoes or boots i'll do it. So any tricks will help

It didn't work for me,it just brings the contact point closer and your hand/fingers get bashed up more. For those of us with thick fingers the best solution, for me anyways, was a bigger loop lever. It doesn't have to be one of those huge western movie ones, at the time Brownells offered a few diff. ones. Wrapping the lever with leather laces looked real good but, it punished my hand more.

i dont really have a thick hand actually but whatever the size of loop it doesnt really matter as you have to make contact with it in order to cycle the gun.

those giant loop levers john wayne used to use always made me think it was designed for shooters wearing mittens:D

it'd look too fancy in an indoors range and i dont have leather gloves... i have those cotton gloves 69cents a pair tho

Have you considered checking out your local motorbike shop? They make leather lever covers for bikes, one of those may work for you.

yeah well i wanted to see if someone had a leather wrap but i used a leather lace like the one Tuco used in the good the bad and ugly to lace around the lower lever part, looks good dont know how long it'll stand

Take the tongue from an old pair of work boots. (leather) Cut a piece big enough to wrap the lower portion of the lever with about an inch to spare. use a glue suitable for leather and coat the excess. Use two pieces of paint stick to clamp the leather with carpenter clamps. Once dry stitch tight to the lever with leather awl. Then trim neatly with a sharp knife. Works for me.

I had the same trouble with a BLR pistol grip (lever has an arc to match the pistol grip and puts all the pressure on back of the middle two fingers). I found a leather work boot lace and wrapped the lever with it. I started at the very front by tying the lace with a slip knot and positioning it on the bottom then make 1 loop and half hitch it on the bottom (you will have to reverse direction on every loop) and continue to do this, make sure you do the half hitch on every wrap and pull it tight and keep the loops real tight together.

I found it worked real well and I didn't think it looked out of place.
