The Chiappa definitely has nice wood on it. However, its price is too rich for a poor boy like me. I ordered the Steve's Gunz kit plus the cap for the little action safety once it's removed. As close to authentic as my budget will allow.
I have a Chiappa 92. Haven't taken it to the range, so I can't give a report. I CAN tell you that the fit & finish are nicer than the Puma/Rossi and it doesn't have the bogus tang safety. I got the one with the 20" octagonal barrel.
What caliber? The Chiappas list both a .357mag and .38spl on their site as two different models. Also one place I found carrying them has them at around $600 while another dealer is $1400.
.357 Magnum. Give Armand a call at Badger Arms. The octagonal barrel was $100 more. I just liked the looks, and I figured over the length of time I'll probably keep the rifle, it's small potatoes.
