Hi Folks:
I recently acquired a 12 ga double, fixed chokes made by Giuseppi Tonolini in Italy. Trying to find out some more info about it. Hoping that some of you fellas may be able to help out.
Both barrels are stamped with 'Acier Boehler' and I have no idea what that means. Any ideas?
It is also stamped 'Made for Emery & Sutter'. Who are they? American Importers? or other?
Is Giuseppi Tonolini the gun maker? or the engaraver? perhaps both?
Any other information about these guns and their history, performance etc would be very much appreaciated. Thanks.........................................wTc

Tonolini

Not much info on the web

try www(dot)shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=5361&highlight=tonolini

boehler acier means boehler steel - assumed to be the barrel steel supplier

Accuracy Plus in Peterborough has a used one listed for sale.

Cheers,
Bob

The district of Gardone and Brechia in Italy are similar to Leige in Belgium or Suhl in Germany. There were lots of "Mom and Pop" gun Makers some of them very high quality. I had one called a Giuseppi Gitti. It was very similar to a Beretta 409. Yours is probably from the same region.

I'll just piggy back on this thread. :)

Here's a few pictures of a friend's Tonolini. Also would appreciate any insight into the markings and possible value of this 12g.

If you take the forestock off there are the following markings on the barrel:

kg 1500 (18,4) (17,3) on one barrel and (20,3) (18,4) and 17,6 on the other- but without the brackets.

It is also the "Monobloc- model A/58, also made for "Emery & Sutter"

thanks,
RC

The Tonolini at Accuracy Plus has been there for a long time ( years ) and is listed at $350.00.

Friend of mine bought one of the EE a couple years back and it's a decent serviceable gun. Believe he paid around $250.00 for it.
