I use 2 different loads. The first is my target load and the second my hunting load:

250gr Lapua scenar
92 gr RL 25
Lapua brass
Fed 215M primers
OAL 3.665
2960 FPS
5/8" @ 300m

215gr Sierra Gameking
97.8 gr H1000
Fed 215M primers
Lapua brass
OAL 3.665
3050 FPS
7/8" @ 300m

It is written some place that you shouldn't use 300gr bullets in a rifle that doesn't have at least a 1-10 twist but they shoot well out of this rifle, just not as good as these two loads.

These are from a Sako TRG 42 with 27 1/4" barrel.

I have found this to be the best load to date for accuracy:

250gr Lapua Scenar
94.4 gr RETUMBO
Lapua brass sized with custom Lee Collet Die
O.A.L. 3.670
2950 fps
1/8" 5 shot groups at 100 yds

this load shot from an Accuracy International

Sorry but I don't understand how you can have 1/8" groups when the bullet is almost 3 times that diameter by itself.

If you put 5 shots through the same hole then the group size = 0.00"

tac-driver put 5 shots into 1 hole but it was 1/8" larger than the diameter of the .338 bullet. Therefore it's 1/8", 5 shot group.

Clear as mud?

You should shoot this gun in 100 yard Benchrest with groups like that!

Ok I get it, sort like how we score antlers differently.
