LF One piece Rem 788 base for the .308

Does anyone know who makes or made such an item? -- a one piece Remington 788 (.308 short action ) scope base?
Looking for one - any help is appreciated

Redfield and Leupold both made one piece mounts for the 788. You'll have to haunt the gunshows, or see if any shops have some old stock laying around. Weaver made a one piece as well, now that I think of it. - dan

i see that Brownells has a Redfield in the proper length -- I gues the .308 is XLong -- go figure. I may try them to se eif they can ship up still.

It's an X long because the 788 44 mag action is a Short and the 222-223 action is a long, I believe. Odd, but there it is. - dan
