Looking for 150 grain,180 and 215 grain loads. Specifically looking for hotter loads that the P-14 can handle. Thanks ........:)

Check with "Mr .303", Steve Redgwell, (303british.com).

I went to 303british.com and I believe his P-14 loads were for the Epps version.
I stand.. er.. sit, corrected. Guess you'll have to wait until his revised load book comes out. However, you could probably work up carefully from regular 303 loads into some of the Epps loads he suggests. I suspect you'll run out of case capacity before you get pressure problems.

I got his "Shooting & Reloading the .303 and .303 Epps" but it, too, does not deal with the P-14 with the regular chamber. I'm planning to have mine (a BSA sporter) rechambered to .303 Epps anyway, but it would have been nice to have P-14 loads in the book as well.

I agree with Why Not. I have a Winchester built P-14, and regularly use loads that are shown for the 308. It's a good idea to work up from 3-4 grains below, but the P-14 in 303 British does not give up anything to the 308. If you really want your P-14 to perform, try RL15 with the 150/180 grainers or W760 with the 180's Another excellent powder is Vihtavuori N540. My P14 with the 180 Sierra and 50 grains of 760 will shoot under 1" for 3 at 100 meters. The chrony'd velocity is 2640. What more could you ask for?? Regards, Eagleye.

Mine is a Win P-14, too, and it shoots about 1.25" @ 100. Lovely rifle. I am using 43.5 gr. of RL i5, but that's the same as I use in my Mk4, so there is no doubt room for a ittle more "whump" out of the case even without reaming it to Epps. I got some of Steve R.'s 200 grain "Mk.9" bullets which I am looking forward to trying out when the snow/slush/freezing sludge departs from the Lower Mainland. The reason for wanting to ream it to Epps was not so much to max it out but to allow for a little more energy with a suitable margin for ambient temperatures as I want to take it on a plains game safari in Africa in 2008 :D
