OK, I'm in the market for one of those..
I'd like to hear your comments & advice since I'll be spending about 3k on this & so you know,
1) Accuracy is the #1 thing I'm looking for as I'll be using it for matches & hunting, kinda like a GP semi.
2) AR mags would be an xtra but not obligatory

3) Scoping is manditory.

thanks!

Black or green special. Target if you only plan on using glass :)

The only downside is for hunting it's pretty Heavy if you plan on lugging it around.

X2 Swiss Arms Black or Green Special - Target configuration, otherwise you'll have to spend a couple hundred on a rail. You might want to look into the Tavor as well - I don't know what accuracy is like though or how long it will remain in the unrestricted class.

is hunting with .223 legal in Alberta?

I'd say black or green special as well.

Have you checked out the AR-180b? If you spend a few hundred in upgrades its definately a decent rifle.

I know of no other rifle then the Swiss Arms that will score as high in the areas you want. The SL8, I would not want to lug it around the bush, the G36 conversion kit for it is a compromise and the AR mag conversion kit for it is a compromise (and the release for it sucks). In fact putting the cracking stock issue aside the SL8 is really just a compromise of the G36.

There is no compromise with the Swiss Arms, its accurate as hell, a trigger made of butter and built mil spec - it holds up. The only two draw backs with Swiss arms is the weight and the expense and the pain of both fades with time.;)

I've fired the Tavor now, nice rifle but no bullpup is going to be as accurate as a Swiss Arms, the trigger design will not allow it. (except the DSR-1 and ####s knows how they did that...)

There is nothing else Black rifle rifle that would come close but I can’t comment on the XCR as I’ve never held or fired it. People who have it like it but it’s a small company and its not mil spec and that makes me nervous. (Only 25 in Canada so far too so hard to get)

The other option is to get a semi hunting rifle but you can't do service rifle matches with it.

Go Swiss Arms

my 2 cents.:)

I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO TELL YOU AGAIN!!!!!

AR-180B!!!!

LOL!! I'll be in town Tuesday till friday..Maybe we'll use my employee discount & get some .223 69gr match & try it out..

What's you twist ratio on your Armalite again?

On the same topic, anyone know what the rate of twist is on a PE90? I've got some 69 gr match, and I'm not sure if it will work in this rifle.

Swiss Arms. Nicest .223 you can get.
