Don't know. The stripper clip guide area isn't load bearing anyway.

I'm not worried about painting it. I could care less how it looks, though it'll probably get some paint at some point. Maybe lime green or pink.

I don't sit in the basement polishing my guns with cloth diapers and fretting over every scuff and ding they get.
