So the border security guy wants to ban legal guns?? Without impeding legal guns?? Maybe he should focus on the border???!!! Fffffffffs
Would there be flaw in my logic in thinking that any measure of tightening on availability and ownership of handguns say should increase their value over time?
Is it gonna be a problem if I post links to the two-part article I wrote about the experience and lessons learned from it?
Pepperpopper, ITAR is one of the tentacles of the Deep State, and as you might have seen they're already actively attempting a coup through self-styled "American Himmler" Robert Mueller. You have a worthwhile observation and I'll try to pass it along, but I don't have high hopes of there being a path from my keyboard to the right eyes-on-screen.I'd look at it for sure, though there are plenty of those sorts of things out there.
I would contact the NRA on our behalf, and tell them this is a sales issue for their makers. Canada is very prejudicial about what it allows up here. It is blocked by US laws, but only because Canada did not ask to be exempted. So I can't even get a 22 barrel up here without hundreds of dollars of cost on top of the 40 Green Mountain charges. Hell the UK lets more stuff in.
Add to that a bad on the main guns shooters seem to want, and it is a big kick in the crotch for US makers and small businesses. And Trump is negotiating a free trade deal with Canada, why is the NRA letting this slide (assuming that may be so, nothing mentioned up here).
Dont let Wendy advocates lull you into a sense of security, there will be no grandfathering, there will be no handguns, there will be no "assault rifles" (their loose term).
Oh boy; my lower mainland Liberal MP won't mind, she's been in her spot for decades.
As Charlton Heston said, "from my cold dead hands"
I always read that same line in these threads, but no one ever really spells out exactly what they mean when they say that. Until it is clarified, one can only assume that it implies that the gun owner is willing to literally fight to the death with whomever comes looking for their guns whether it be the police or military or otherwise. Big talk, and this would not be another scene in a video game.
We might also be more successful is if we frame this as being ineffective at reducing crime as opposed to an infringement on our privledges. The average canadian might prob doesnt care about the “rights” of gun owners, but they do care about public safety, and might not be too happy about legislation that doesnt go after the people who put them at risk.
I think what he means is that if handguns and "assault weapons" are banned, he'll feel all cold and dead inside. He'll then use said cold dead hands to kindly hand over his firearms to Mr. RCMP man. Just my interpretation.
If liberals ban anything, they;ll get the boot in 2019
