Life of Norc 1911 Barrel?

The chrome bore should last forever....45 is a low pressure round. As long as the barrel is fit properly you should never have to replace it. What does happen on the lemons is the lower lug breaks off as it isn't cut square, or the top locking lugs peen as they are not fit properly. If you don't have those issues it should literally last forever.

Mine got through about 5k before it stopped working but I think it was mostly due to the budge when a bullet got stuck and I didn't notice...

New barrel has about 12k through it, still shoots good. I would expect at least 50k

All barrels wear out. If you are blowing out barrels at 5k of normal loads not IPSC open loads you got a crappy barrel. I have got 50k out of a sti bull barrel in one of my open guns. I have seen guys get 90k out of a barrel. I have also fried a barrel at 12k. it all comes down to the barrel. Sorry to be long winded but I have one question. Is the barrel not grouping or not locking up properly ?

If you read my post it was a stuck bullet that bulged my barrel.

I think maybe he got confused with the typo "budge" vs "bulge" and your post got lost in translation.
Lol, I'm gonna blame that on my cell phone.

Has nothing to do with your post. I was replying to the guy that started the thread.

You said "If you are blowing out barrels at 5k of normal load" which the OP never mentioned an amount. Anyhow it doesn't matter.

I think recoil spring is getting weaker and I was just wondering how long before replacing barrel. Very relieved wont have to buy new barrel.
