Yes and no. The New Zealand authorities have banned Enfields from army rifle ranges over fears that the receivers had fired uncounted numbers of uncontrolled strength rounds, and were therefore stretched and unsafe. If every SKS shooter figures how to overcharge a 7.62x39 and fire enough aimed rounds at scored targets, we are all in trouble.

except that the 7.62 x39mm is a slow round , at around 2300 fps , barrel will last for ever , that far aways to be a barrel burner

I know an idiot that shot corrosive surplus and didnt know you had to clean in he claimed he left it for 2 years. Anyways the gas tube rotted out and it became a single shot pos.
