Light bullets, 9" twist in 7-08, effect???

Have a 9" twist on my 7-08 barrel.

Have a good accurate hunting load with a 150 grain.

Want to try 120 grain for flat shooting varmint use.


What have others loaded successfully with that twist?

I have a Shilen barrel in that twist on my 7-08 and it gives me 1" groups just like the factory barrel in bullet weights from 130 to 154gr. Garbage so far, can't find the sweet spot. Good luck in your quest.

My best groups in 7mm-08 come with 139 gr bullets, but the lighter stuff still hovers around 1". Can't ask for more from a hunting carbine. - dan
