Light cast bullets in a 303?

I ran 00 buck through a lee sizer and loaded them up with 12 gr of unique. It was just as well I shot them out of a shotgun because they grouped like buckshot. Go figure lol. My no4 and no 1 like em heavy and seated well out.

I've have only ever used buckshot for grouse loads that were unsized and fat for caliber (#1 for 7mm, #0 or #00 depending on manufacturer for .303 & 7.62x54R), thumb seated on an unsized fire-formed case mouth or just barely inside it. The idea is to (hopefully) center/seal in the throat, and if not, tumbling before the leade doesn't matter much because it's a sphere except for seating damage. I only use 2-4.4grains of WW231 (these are very-short-range loads after all), cotton or dacron filler, and originally, I smeared lube on after seating but now use dip lubing.

Regards,
Joel
