Light Mounting Thread

V-tac mount
Fenix TK-11

Ran a TK-10 on a Valtro PM-5 for over a year, hundreds of trap loads and slug's and never had an issue except for carbon on the lense.

I have a pressure switch but find the cord always gets snagged when moving.

Best to keep my lights mounted low, easy to find the tail cap with my thumb and less chance of of it getting beaten up when the rifle is slung.

thats a good light right there. had one and the throw of that light is amazing. I used to blind my friends with it at night because it was so strong lol.

Ive heard that the Fenix lights when used as weapon lights crapped out.

That hasn't been my experience. I have an LD10 on my AR mounted at 2 o'clock in a weaver 1" ring on my MOE hand-guard. I used a hard plastic insert to fill the void. I used to have it mounted at 10 O'clock but I found that it didn't allow me to use the grip that I preferred. It is a little harder to reach at the 2 o'clock position but since I have long fingers It's just a minor reposition of my thumb to operate it.

It's been on the rifle through close to 3K rounds. I turned it on for one entire session of over 200 rounds and it worked the whole time. The only issue I had was that during fast strings of 5 rounds it would sometimes turn into strobe mode. I like the LD10 because it's compact, doesn't ad a lot of weight, 100 lumen output and takes a single AA battery.
It's decent enough for me for now. Would I use it on a low light course? Probably not.

Edit to Ad: The position of the light on my 10 inch barrel means it gets pounded by muzzle blast. I've tried a ton of muzzle brakes on this thing and it hasn't missed a beat. Most times I have to spray the light with G96 to get the crap cleaned off from the muzzle blast bukkake session it gets every time I'm out. It's still running fine.

I got the two latest Fenix lights, the tk21 has 468 lumens and the pd32 has 302 lumens.

Both run on 1 18650 or two cr123/rcr123. For under $100 each they can;t be beat.

i had a surfire universal weapon light that had an integrated arms mount. ####ing thing busted on me overseas. i had to use zapstraps to secure the light. when i got home i ditched it for a offset dd mount. and have been using a fenix tk11

Man that truly sucks. They do have a life-time no hassle warranty though.

May not be your Cupatea but with the new Inforce a 12 oclock position
that works for me.

I tried to get a pic of sight picture but my camera skills are not up to snuff.Suffice it to say with the little Inforce there is NO obstruction of view and with the grip I use on forend my thumb rides on the rear power switch (off, low and high)
Just a fwiw post

Meh it doesnt matter, i stopped using incandescent a long time ago. My role has changed. No need for ir filters, so i stick with led. Cr123a are hard to find in w africa, so i will be looking for a light that is bright that uses aa batts.

And because we use ak, mounting optioms are limited. Usually gun tape or hose clamps. And no its not easy to bring in rails for ak.
