I finally finished... mostly... My Mossberg MVP-LSS build.

My original idea was to build a precision rifle in .223 that would be light, compact, black, and deadly for coyotes.
I decided on the Mossberg MVP Predator 5.56x45 with the med fluted BBL and threaded 1/2x28.
I thought that feeding from AR magazines was a benefit asI already owned LAR-15 mags, and they are very plentiful and cheap.
I also like that I can share mags between four of my rifles.

This build consists of:

Mossberg MVP Predator 18.5"
MDT LSS chassis
Harris Bipod
Magpul CTR with .75" riser
Milspec buffer tube
MDT side folding adapter
UTG one piece scope mount (I know UTG, but it is milled steel, and perfect to spec)
Vortex Precision matched 30mm rings
Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x36 EBR1 Mrad.

I plan to modify the side folding adapter to include a spring to add tension in the collapsed position.

So far I am very happy with it. Hornady 75gr match ammo yielded pretty good groups, (smallest was .350 MOA)
However normal ammo and my shooting is averaging around 1 MOA. (I am not that good yet)

Anyway, enough talking.... Pics... sorry about the cell phone pics.

Looks slick, I was debating an mvp with LSS but ended up going with a ruger american ranch.

You won't be able to shorten your barrel past 18" or it will become prohib. You could try to find an mvp patrol barrel.

Correct me if I am wrong, But does the 18" limit not only apply to Semi's? I done really mind it as is, but why not if I can.

edit- right you are, removed that plan

How sturdy is that CTR stock? I have a Savage MDT with a Fab Defence GL-Shock FDE on a milspec buffer and I'm not liking it that much for this application. It rattles a bit and the recoil spring is noisy. I was looking into the CTR as an option because Magpul FDE actually matches MDT's FDE.

The friction lock on the ctr helps a lot, it is pretty sturdy. It is obviously not as solid as a fixed stock, but it does a good job.

There's a fair amount of up and down play in mine. Enough to be annoying. Its advertised as fitting both milspec and commercial tubes though. I see the CTR has two different models depending on which buffer tube you have.

Daver-II, did you notice any improvement in accuracy between the stock MVP set up and the MDT LSS??

These are pics I was looking for. Nice build!! I have been contemplating the LSS for a while but these were the first pics I've seen a MVP in the chassis. Thanks for the share it looks awesome!
