Hey guys, anyone have light primer strikes with Norc cj95 ammo? My 10.5" LMT upper has issues with it. It's on an armalite lower and I believe the lower has a Jard trigger in it. I replaced the lighter hammer spring with a stock hammer spring and it didn't help much.

Wondering if I should replace the entire trigger group or see if there are extra power hammer springs out there. Anyone run into this? I have a ton of the norc ammo and want to primarily use it in my AR.

Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Ps- the gun also sometimes fails to lock open on the last shot as well using this ammo.

I suspect it may have more to do with the firearm than the ammo here. I may be wrong. the "mutt" nature of your gun, combined with a dirty firing pin maybe?

and no disrespect on the mutt thing, I just don't know how to say it differently, I know all AR parts usually fit with no problems, but all it would take was a few thou or so to not fire.

Funny. I have done a few thousand rounds with my *cough* BUSHMASTER, OMG lynch me now! with no hiccups, but once I started running Norc ammo I had a few light primer strikes, but no keyholing like everyone else is having

They are military primers might need an extra power hammer spring, I had the same problem with my 7.62 x 39 AR shooting Czech surplus, I ordered a extra power spring from Wolff and haven't had any issues since.

I think the primers are pretty hard, as my savage axis would FTf every 5 rounds or so, but the Norc Ar chewed through it without a hiccup.
Savage never had any issues with other ammo.

This AR usually runs like a top on Q3131A or M193 but my supply of that dried up. I'll try the extra power hammer spring. Thanks guys.

One of the only failures I recall having with my Swiss Arms was a light primer strike with the Norinco (spam can) ammo. Not exactly a trend, but after a couple thousand rounds of various other types of ammo without a single hiccup it stood out.

I wonder if CJ-95 is harder then CJ-93.

I've been running the 93 vintage, and ironically, tho' I was expecting problems, I've had none.

I'm running a JP Low Power spring kit in an SD-3G and I've only had like 1 or 2 lights strikes so far and I'm at least 1200 rounds into the crate.

Meanwhile, my buddie who has a Savage Axis had lots of light strikes.

Detail strip your bolt and and clean it throughly.
ALso clean the BCG throughly. Maybe you will find small chips of material from the norc ammo inside the bolt.
That's what happened to my tavor....some metal part got stuck inside my trigger assembly.

I've seen many people have problems with light strikes with Norc ammo. My DD seems happy with most of it but some peoples guns just don't seem to like it. If your having trouble with it...don't use it for any competitions that matter to you.

older thread,...but just fyi,...i had a few like strikes norc ammo and match triggers spring kits in my 10.5"....only a couple, but I used the norc ammo for plinking.
