Hello folks, I have a new CZ 527 MTR in .223 Rem which has been giving me a high percentage (>50%) of light strikes. The problem seems intermittent, I'll fire off 3 rounds, no problem, then 2 light strikes in a row. This happens with different types of ammo, the cheap stuff, and also Hornady Match. Some primers have a good deep hit, while others have barely a mark. I have disassembled the bolt, cleaned the spring, firing pin, the bolt housing etc. without any change. Any ideas ?
Thanks

I had the same problem with a 527 carbine. Check the finish of the firing pin (part behind actual firing pin actually) and the inside of the bolt. Mine was rough, polished it up on a lathe and put a stronger spring in and it works great now.

Also put a slight radius on the front shoulder of the cylinder behind firing pin to prevent it catching (probably not neccessary but I did it anyways)

Was intermittently catching on the rough machine marks inside bolt

Where did you get a stronger spring ?

Can’t recall at the moment, it might have been wolf springs out of the states.
You could also just shim the spring with washers to compress is more to test to see if it fixes it before buying one
Also check your firing pin protrusion. Most centrefires are .050”-.060” I believe.
