SKBs are very neat... the 280 is real nice, but you will need to get lucky to find one for 1k
I have a Vincenzo Bernardelli Roma 6EM that weighs it at an even 6 pounds. A well made double that can be had for a reasonable price.
I did stumble upon the CZ upland ultralight and it seems like exactly what I was looking for...except the barrels just need to be rotated 90 degrees ;-p

I know that mine is utilitarian compared to some that your are listing, but I love my Stoeger 20 gauge coach gun. 20" with imp and mod cylinders, 3" if you want to.
looks like mine is this one:
Item Number 31405
Barrel Length 20"
Overall Length 36.5"
Average Weight 6.4lbs
fits between the door and seat of my jeep when open, I carry it everywhere when I go off road. I love it for grouse. The shorter barrels are a little harder at trap, etc, but it's still a good gun and very handy.
The SXS arent very popular for unknown reasons. If you are willing to go over under instead you have ton of options.
I really like the look of SxS's but they're not in fashion right now. Anything in particular you had in mind that would be worth checking out in the 20ga 6lbs 1000$ range?
why not try the EE there is a skb 280, this is an older but oustanding value in a SxS. Might have to open the full choke though depending on what you plan to use it for

Picked up an Ithaca/SKB 100. Sold both my CZ's after that.Another option if you’re not in a hurry could be the used market, keep an eye open for a used SKB 100, or a Charles Daly 500.
