Light top end setup

Hi guys,

Looking for an upper I can slap on my Ruger lower that is LIGHT. 14.5 inch barrel with rail or keymod (obviously lighter option) What would you guys run? My Ruger 556FB upper while a really nice and reliable set up , looking for a secondary I can swap on and move optics over to.

I am no ar15 guru, not even well verse in them, but I would probably be looking at a upper with no forward assist, 14.5-16" barrel with a light or pencil barrel no back up sights magpul handgard and I would top it of with a burris 2-7x35 ff e1 mounted in a areo precision 3.2 oz mount. And skip the useless stuff like light, laser, forgrip and rails; it's cool to have options but most of the time there not needed. If your not a fan of scopes then maybe a vortex sparcs.

If money not an object they are nice keymod rail available, but will they only be a trend?
