So winter thoughts coming and always dangerous when start thinking.
Thinking about a 3 lb single shot 3030 since last few yrs of hunting been walking carrying a rifle and doing more site seeing than hunting shooting. Ideal would be a 3030 cal single shot with 18-20 inch barrel that folds in half and has a scope base along with peep sights since can’t see open sights. So a gun show recently been seeing some of the folding single shot shotguns and started the thinking process going. The big badger is an option but is heavier than goal weight and would like a better quality. So now off to have my nap and maybe thoughts go away

The most foldy single shot available is a Charles Daly Model 101 12-ga. It isn't a 30-30, but it ticks two of three of your criteria. The good thing, is they seem to be available for less than $200. Can you live with the compromises?

I'm no gunsmith, but I'm not sure you could even nail that weight with a barreled action and a coathanger wire stock. Would be neat though. I ran the numbers on a recoil calculator, on a standard 30-30 170 grn bullet at 2,200 fps. With a 4 lb rifle, she's around 24 lbs with a recoil velocity of 19 fps, so it would be quite rowdy for such a thing!

I thought a while back there was some talking about converting a little badger or something like that into a 30-30… might have not been here… there was a reference to a prepper YouTube or forum talking about that.
Evenguy would be the one to contact about feasibility, the guy is a genius when it comes to create/modifie guns that are not existing.

Most 22lr weigh more than 3lb. My single shot 12ga w/18" barrel weighs over 5lb.

I love your train of thought though. I too would love a light 30-30.

You sure don't hear too much about the Big Badger. It's been years since they were announced, some have been imported but not as many as you'd think.

I wonder what's going on with Chiappa's Big Badger production run?

If they were smart they would add some polymer coverings to the grip for comfort and enclose the wire stock interior for some storage option inside. A little extra weight in the rear would likely balance it out a bit more.

Even if they left it as is and let the 3D printer community come up with add ons it would be popular.
Keep the price low and bring out more caliber offerings.

Have you looked at the Rossi LWC (comes in a few different flavors)? It might not check all of your boxes, but could be a good starting platform to mod?

The CVA single shots seem to be highly spoken of as well, but I think that they're a tad heavier than the Rossi.

It's close no doubt. Only thing that's stopped me from getting one of those is the calibers available, if only they had a 30-30...

Believe it is possibly as this is tc contender with 21” brl in 4570. Shooting barnes tsx250 at 2375. Might have to suck it and stay with this

Find an old stevens 219 and buy a hacksaw and alot of sandpaper. I've seen them drilled n tapped and they have factory open sites.
Break action but easily taken down instead of folded.
Alot better built than any chiappa
Cut to 19" and mill out the stock and sand what doesnt need to be there for you
I gave one of these to a fellow CGN member, and friend , some time ago for his son to use as his first big game rifle . It was drilled and tapped when I got it and was surprisingly accurate . It weighs considerably more than the OP wants , but it is a light , and handy , little thing . I don't regret giving the rifle to an up and coming hunter , but I do miss that Savage .

The thoughts will not go away lol .
I had similar thoughts myself . I was ogling a friend's Baikal IJ -18 single shot 410 a while back . I always regretted not picking up one of the Baikal single shot rifles that were chambered in 7.62X39 . This got me thinking about converting a IJ18 shotgun into a 30/30 . The ballistics are close enough , and I wouldn't have to build an extractor to deal with a rimless case . The chamber area of the barrel is very thick . It's a fairly simple job to cut the barrel off and bore out the shank . You can then thread the shank and install a barrel of your choice . I can do this myself however , it would not be a cheap undertaking if you were to pay someone to do it for you .............. Enjoy your nap .

Chop 7" of barrel shorten the forearm skeletonize the stock or hollow it out. Won't get you down to 3lbs but you'll have a better gun than a chiappa
You could go as far as having the barrel fluted as well

The other option is a full custom but that route is expensive

If it was still mine , I'd give it some thought lol .The young man I gave it to really likes it as it is though .

I got one a real nice one with strong case colors. Sold it before I ever got around to using it. Guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I planned on buying another but held out for the 25/20 of which ive never found
