What works for you for light weight .308 win. loads ? Say 110 gr up to no bigger than 125 gr. / 130 gr.

Not looking for reduced recoil rounds, more of a higher velocity varmint / coyote round.

Anyone use something smaller than 110 gr. ?

I was thinking of doing the same thing so I picked up some .308 110 gr varmageddon bullets to try out and I have CFE 223 powder but I cannot find any load info at all for that combo :( They have info on 130 gr and CFE 223 tho

I have a load with 39.3gr of IMR4198 under a 110gr V-max that has shot sub moa in three of my last five 308 rifles (1.5 in one of the others and I haven't tried it in my newest one yet).
I haven't run it over a crony and I haven't taken any yotes with it yet to see what it does to one but I'm hoping to this winter now that things are settling down around my place after the move and I might actually have some time to get out shooting again :)

Great info guys, please keep em coming.

Strictly out of curiosity has anyone tried lighter than 110 in a .308 ? Haven't looked to see what would be available. Like mentioned above I'm sure it would a be a big jumps to lands. Don't recall hearing of a .308 load lighter than 110 gr.

Lighter than 110r and the bullet would be a flying brick. It'd be as long as it is wide.

My load is 49.5gr Varget under a 125gr Ballistic Tip or a 125gr Berger. This load runs 3100 fps and groups 5-shot 5/8 inch groups out of my Savage PC. I have used it out to 700 yds on steel plates with good success. At shorter ranges it hits like a sledge hammer.

I loaded some 130 Hornady interlocs years ago, can't remember the load, but they shot super flat and tiny groups. I was seduced by the accuracy so I shot a Roe deer in Scotland with one, found it to be violently expanding. Way too violent for my taste, but would love to put one in a coyote!

Not sure what sort of rifle you're using, but I found a load using 110 V-Max and a near max load of BL-C(2) that my Norinco M-14 absolutely loved! Best groups that rifle has ever shot, which was a bit surprising to me. I never chrono'd it so I'm not sure on velocity.
