Light weight BCG

We have some JP Enterprises Low Mass Operating System (LMOS) Bolt Carrier Groups (JPBC-3A) incoming - ETA is 2 weeks or less

Anticipated price is $479.99

Means less mass reciprocating back and forth within the receiver.
Means less perceived recoil impulse/Muzzle rise.

Basically if your building a super high speed low drag AR for competition you would use one of these.
(Part of a complete system though, this one single part doesn't do the trick on its own.)

I remember a video of Ian from Forgotten Weapons interviewing Jim Sullivan - a guy that worked on the AR15 along with Eugene Stoner. I found it pretty interesting that Mr. Sullivan commented that he found it strange that some companies are now selling ever lighter bolt carriers. Not really relevant to the question at hand, but an interesting perspective still.

Don't think this is designed for the carbine gas system or short barrel where unlocking is early. A rifle gas system doesn't need all the extra mass to retard the bolt group movement. That's why it will work fine, especially with tuned lower power ammo.

Since this is not for auto guns, I guess bolt bounce is not a big deal and the magazine spring rate must be fast enough.

Yep to all the above.
Rifle system with adjustable gas block. Might need a different buffer/spring combo too for max effect.
