Im looking at buying a nice lightweight big game rifle and really am stuck as to which one I should get. Im hoping someone can chime in on their expierences with these arms. Im looking to use this on whitetail, moose and Elk and think a 300 wsm would work fine.

Sako 75 Finnlight
Kimber 8400 Montana
Remington Mountain Ti

(no im not interested in a Tikka T3);)

Cheers!!

Personally, I would cross the mountain rifle off the list. I don't think it is the same quality as the Sako. Can't speak for Kimber though.

Scott:
I've owned:
- Kimber 84M (308 win)
- Kimber 84 Classic (308 win)
- Sako Finnlight (7/08)
Kimbers were very light and high quality fit and finish, as is the Sako. I do find the Sako is the most accurate, but slightly heavier -- but man, is it sweet to shoot.

I got a kimber 8400 montana 300wsm and It is sweet and accurate
I put a 4.5-14x40 vxIII and a butler creek sling it is a great mountain rifle
I also really like how it carries on my shoulder (it just stays there)
I also really like the controlled round feed

I have all three and value wise the Kimber wins. But I'd pick the Remington. And like Rembo says, find an old one, you'll save a few hundred bucks, that's much better spent towards a nice scope.:)

How much will the Alaskan sell for?

My bet is it will be $1400.

I just picked up a Sako Finnlight, they're still in circulation, you just have to look;)

You'd be hard pressed to beat the Rem 700 LSS Mtn in 280 Rem (New for 2007). Drop the laminate stock and pick up a used Ti stock... you'll have a hell of a rifle for well under $1000!

I'm thoroughly impressed with the .260 Remington Ti, would recommend it personally. It's a pretty one too, with the spiral fluted bolt and grey hued receiver.

Yeah I really like the fluted bolt, looks different. Im glad they chose to offer the 300 wsm too ;)

Cheers!!

My pic would be the Sako Finnlight better quality and accuracy. I justpiced mine up from Ellwood Epps 1049.00 in .260 I was told they have a few more in stcok call and speak with Wess if you are interested. The new Rem are going to way to expensive this year, I can gurantee that new Alaskan T1 will be over 1600.00 and the new mountain rilfe LSS will be at least 1200.00 or more.

I would pick the Kimber Montana as the best buy and the lightest in 300 WSM good quality and precise, CRF, 3 Position safety and very handy.

My Remington Ti .260 outshot the Finnlight I tried and is notably lighter, Finnlight's a great rifle, but I like the M700 I don't think you're giving up anything on quality either. I also much prefer the Rem Ti's Bell & Carson stock to the Sako 75 Finnlight's.
