lightening the trigger of a Beretta 96D

With so many ex-LEO Beretta 96D pistols floating around, I am curious what success can be had in lightening the DAO trigger pull (especially for those of us without access to a gunsmith but that have some basic gunsmithing skills) ?

not so hard, you can throw in a new hammer spring that's lighter, polish up all the contact surfaces, but that's about it.

What is a good source/supplier of these springs? Wolf ?

I got mine from LTT Tech but i is not selling parts anymore. Purchase from Wolff springs or Brignoli.

If you have a used LEO 96D you only need to smooth up contact surfaces. The hammer spring which for the most part affects your trigger, should be smoothed out enough. A "D" model spring is the best DA spring going as a stock item which will be reliable.

in terms of smoothing contact surfaces, if you are good at surface polishing (DO NOT ROUND EDGES OR CORNERS) then polish the contact surfaces of the trigger bar that engages with the hammer and contact the frame. Then a little moly lube on those polished surfaces. you will have a very nice trigger.
