I've had this Remington 521-T sitting in my safe for as long as I can remember. Looking at it today, I'm thinking I'd like to
fix it up and make it a real shooter just for my own sake. The trigger breaks crisp but its over 5 lbs. I was told there was a company that provided a trigger
kit for this rifle bringing it down to 2.5 - 3 lbs. Has anyone heard of such a product?
UPDATE: found the replacement trigger spring for $8.00 plus $25.00 shipping from the States.

Anyone have suggestions at to ways of lightening the trigger pull?

It is not an adjustable trigger so the best way is carefully... if you screw up the sears it's into a new trigger...

That seems a very high price for a small spring. Marlins & CZ 452 rifles respond well to lighter springs. in fact there is a thread somewhere on CGN or RFC showing how to use a ball point pen spring as a replacement trigger spring.

Unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing, do not mess with the sear. Metal removed cannot be replaced.

Some automotive outlets as well as some hardware stores have stock springs. Taking the one that is in the trigger group out and going around to see if you can find something comparable but with either more coils or lighter wire seems like a great starting point.

Cutting coils off the existing spring is an option if it's not already very short and small with few turns. Otherwise it's a non starter if it's already small and only has up to around 5 or 6 coils. The issue is that cutting a little off changes too many spring factors all at once and in too large a degree. But if it's a little longer and has lots of turns and is set in place with a fair amount of pre-load then adjustment by cutting off half turns at a time becomes viable.
