Lighter mainsprings - IPSC legal?

The rule book I am looking at says " AFTERMARKET PARTS, COMPONENTS AND ACCESSORIES ARE PROHIBITED , except as follows" then it lists a few exceptions and springs are not one of the exceptions. Also they may have a gunsmith compare it to an original. Or they might not know, but you would know and if you won against other people who followed the rules, then it would not be a real win would it. If you want to play with the parts in your gun shoot " STANDARD".

That's cheating to gain an unfair advantage, and that could get you a ban for life.
But, the only person you're cheating is yourself.
Personally, if you were caught cheating and showed up at another match, I'd request that your gun gets checked before you shoot.
Don't forget that this is a small community and word gets around quite fast.

Definitelly not a cheating question....
I was just wondering about some of the guns that aren't 100% with stock springs; you hear alot about CZ's being oversprung...Or Norinocs coming with 20lbs triggers... In that case IMO it wouldn't be about getting an advantage, but rather getting on the same page as everyone else. But rules are rules...
btw what about recoil springs? If you want to run a heavier or lighter spring to fit yout load, is that against the rules as well?

Gosh....... If we are talking about Standard or Open, 1911 is all about aftermarket parts.
In the IPSC National 2007 Championship, there were actually several companies there selling many aftermarket parts.
It is hard to imagine aftermarket parts being prohibited in IPSC.
Which open gun does not have aftermarket parts all over it?
