Lightest coyote rifle

Love the Swede! I got one from Intersurplus, a Husky 1900. It'd be a bit porky for a lugabout varminter, and also has a 24" barrel which is a bit unhandy. While there ain't no kill like overkill, a 6.5sw for 'yotes? You really want them dead, don't you?

You can cut down a 96 and sand the stock alot trimmer and sleeker really shed some weight and the swede with lighter bullets will still make a great coyote rifle
A $300 rifle I'd have no issue modifying for my needs

I hadn't thought of that. I wouldn't dare do this to the two Huskys I got, but a beater one, for sure.

I took a poke around, the lightest 6.5 cal bullets I found were 120 grainers. Do they make lighter ones still? Something in the 90 to 100 grain range would be super. Even just for a day of paper punching.

Oops, that's a whole round but I'm sure the bullets are available too.

The cheapest center fire is prob gonna be a 223
If you can splurge a few more bucks I would find a gen 1 Ruger American
The CZ is nicer but again more expensive
The 204 and 22hornet are good calibers too but ammo is more expensive then 223

Sierra has a few options in the 100gr range. Hornady has a 95 v-max. Hammer bullets has a few as well right down to 80gr.

I walk a lot when I hunt coyotes and was looking for something with better range than a 22 mag, with a budget around $500 to $600 I know it's slim pickings, any suggestions

I'd look for a Savage Model 11 in 223.

There was one on the EE a couple days ago for $500/shipped. Far better rifle than the Axis and good shooters.

That'd be really hard to beat for cheap, accurate coyote gun.

If you want something really lightweight and can easily take coyotes out to 200yards I'd pick up a keltec SU-16 and put a 6 power scope on it.

Liangjian has Ruger American Ranch 556 on sale $650 tax included. Mine shoots 77gr Hornady sub moa at 200yd...

Edit: It takes 10rds crossmag no problem, brings a lot of fun to the range...

You be stuck with a 1:14" twist bbl which would be fine with 55gr or under bullets.
