so this is my gun, let's have a look at some pics than I'll talk about the details

<

so, the frame is a chiness 80's pinned barrel
i have a truglo 4x32 short scope ( I choosed this model for it's size), mounted on a weaver rail on a 5th gen scope mount
I have a pin on AK style muzzle brake ( rare)
the stock is a ATI dragunov stock with the butt pad (the butt pad is useless but gives an extra 3/4 " to the stock)
it comes equipped with a Harris bipod ( I decided to fix it to the stock because fixing anything to a barrel reduces accuracy )

components
my sks has a CNC machined and heat-treated 420 SS firing pin. spring return firing pin negate the risk of accidental Slamfire (which can be baught at http://www.murraysguns.com/sksown.htm
I have a recoil buffer.
the gas piston rod has been changed to a stainless one,
the trigger group has been changed for a german one, the seer has a positive engagement the springs has been changed to a wolff tuned sks trigger set (be extra carefull when changing the hammer spring, the wolff tuned kit is sometimes not powerfull enaught to ingnite the primer and simply punch the primer which may be dangerous, and can create delayed fires so be carefull when messing with the hammer spring, test it on blank ammunition before live ones.)

well that's about it for my sks, thats my piece of hardware, hope you enjoy it and if you have comments, feel free to ask

enjoy

well the scope works well, with mil spec ammo i get a 3" groupping at 100 yards it isent that bad for 25 year old war weapon of such quality. the trigger pull is about 3.5 pounds but long, about 1/3" long but smooth. the muzzle brake reduces the 7.62 recoil to almost a joke, due to canadian crappy restion on military ammunition I only fired about 300 round since the final modifications I have 4000 rounds that are backordered, i've been waiting for these for about 9 months now

nope, instead of removing the bolt cover rearward i take it out upward i can remov e the entire bolt, spring, carrier without removing the stock. note that only the trigger group need to be removed in order to remove the stock.

it's well made, strong, the 2 major defaults is that first you cant use the blade anymore and you cant equip the sks pincatiny rail atachment that fit on the barell other than that, it's really nice, long enaugh for a "standard" man, the original wood stock is way too short for anybody.

Is that rust I see developing on the muzzle break? :D

Other then that I like.

i checked it out yesterday after I took the pics, the muzzle brakle and the bolt looks brown but it aint rust, it might be the reflect of the light on the oil, the only part of my sks that is affected by rust is the gas tube, under the handguard but i baught it like that.

Seems like a scope is pointless if the best you can do is 3" at 100yds... Isn't that's barely with open sights?

With the old czech milsurp that everyone shoots (assuming thats what he is shooting) I would say thats pretty good! I put a scope on my sks and sometimes the bullets wouldnt even hit the target. I would have to say its the ammo , not the scope or the shooter!
I really like your sks by the way ! I have been looking for a suitable and affordable replacment scope for my sks and I think I will try the truglo. I bought a leapers from milarm up in edmonton and it is the biggest piece of junk i have ever used! Also I will never go back to milarm , they are pirates , the scope they sold me was 95 dollars and then I found it elsewhere for way cheaper (35 in the states and about 50 up here) also the mount they sold me was 60 dollars but in actuality it sells elsewhere for about 30, and with their no return policy well you know ! Anyways , ill stop rambling , but thanks for the ideas!

Looks great! I have the same stock coming for my Chinese SKS. I did figure I'd have to remove the bayonet. Also wasn't sure how the scope would mount either but it is clear in your pictures. I'm figuring this wont end up being the most accurate gun but it will go bang and will look cool, lol. I'd like to find a way to use a pinned 30 round mag in mine as well, any ideas?

Wow, mine looks about the same and I love it. For what it costed, I think it was worth it. I get about the same accuracy as well. Ammo is cheap, definitely a fun gun to shoot! My scope is a bit longer so I can't use the stripper clips anymore.
