Lightweight 7.62x39 Deer Hunting Rig, Inspired......

.50 beowulf build

If the CZ is only 150 more it is the obvious choice; nice little guns.

I used to own a zastava mini mauser and it was very light. Using a peep sight instead of an optic drops a lot of weight. That gun with a tupperware stock would be pretty damn light.

Damn it SuperCub ...

Back to x39 bolt actions before this gets wayyyyy off track.

I've wanted a 7.62 x 39 bolt action for many years now and get more determined every time someone starts a tread on the topic.

Something custom like this could be fun: (although it doesn't look light ...)

Isn't there a Zastava in 7.62X39? There is also the Norc. Don't knock the Norc until you handled and tried one. Every Norinco I've ever owned was surprisingly accurate and reliable.

I have always dreamed of a ultralight SBR with 14" pencil barrel ,peep sights but in a 6.5 Grandel I think it would be a wicked all round pack rifle

Sorry ..... Didn't mean to get you all worked up with the slippers pic. My bad.

On topic ..... Why not buy a 700 action and replace the bolt with one from PTG that will fit the 7.62x39? Add a lightweight bbl in a tiny little stock painted in pinkfurryslippers camo and your GTG. :)

Only reason a grown man should be wearing fuzzy pink slippers is to get a laugh out of the kids .... :p

That could be a very viable approach for a x39 bolt action. Remington 700 being my favoured design. Have to look into that a bit more. Toss on a Wildcat lightweight stock .... hmmmmmmm
